The Company was founded by George W. Auch in 1908, and operated
as a family partnership, specializing in the construction of fine homes
and churches in and around the City of Detroit, some of which have since
been designated as architectural landmarks. The partnership expanded
its construction activities during the 1930's to include commercial
construction and has since become widely recognized in southeast Michigan
for expertise in the construction of health care, commercial and
institutional facilities.
The year 2003 marks our 95th year of providing construction services to
Southeast Michigan institutions. We have long enjoyed an outstanding reputation
in our industry for all types of construction, but especially for our
work in the institutional market. The company has averaged approximately
$150,000,000 in revenue in recent years.
We have focused our efforts to meet the demands created by the growth
and development experienced by the Southeast Michigan area over the
last twelve years. We are not an industrial, speculative, or national company,
choosing rather to become the "best of class" in serving the major institutions
of our area. We're proud of our stature and our reputation, both within
our industry and among our clients. No other construction
firm has operated in the Southeast Michigan market for a
longer period of time.
Our longevity has given us a perspective of where we have been, and
where we hope to go. We know that our quest to deliver quality construction
services in both good and bad economic times is consistent with the
requirements of our clients. This serves our mutual interest . .
. and has led to the highest client retention rate in the industry.
Our project management and field supervisory staff are career professionals
with an average industry experience of 20 years. Over 90% of our business
comes from our existing client base, with the majority of work being performed under
a negotiated contract basis.
Our typical program is made up of numerous projects, in various locations,
that must be executed on a simultaneous basis, with a drop dead occupancy
date.
